The CID informed the Courts today that the Attorney General has informed them the controversial property believed to have been owned by former minister Basil Rajapaksa will be utilized for public welfare.

Pugoda Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura ordered to suspend the auction of the properly scheduled for March 29th when a motion was considered before courts today.

The Magistrate also informed that a decision with regard to the property will be announced on March 23.

The government has estimated the value of this 16 acre property at 208 million rupees.

Meanwhile, the Colombo High Court issued summonses on President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to appear in Courts on July 17th.

The summonses were issued when the Case against former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake was taken before High Court Judge Wikum Kaluarachchi today.

Former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake has been accused of three counts of charges including preparing forged documents.

President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe have been named as first and second witnesses of this Case.

Accordingly, the Judge issued summons on the duo to appear before Courts on July 17th.

Meanwhile, another witness of the Case UNP General Secretary Minister Kabeer Hashim who was in Courts warmly greeted his predecessor Thissa Attanayake today.
