The army intelligence directorate member who was arrested last night in connection with the assault on journalist Keith Noeyer was remanded today until the 30th of March.

The 34-year old corporal from Minuwangoda was remanded when he was produced before Mt. Lavinia Magistrate.

Five army personnel including an army major were arrested and have been remanded in connection with this assault until 30th of March.

Meanwhile The Colombo High Court rejected the revised bail application filed by NFF leader MP Wimal Weerawansa today.

Having rejected the revised bail application, High Court Judge Wikum Kaluarachchi said that Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayarathna has legally rejected bail for Weerawansa.

Weerawansa was arrested on January 10th on the charges of misusing government vehicles and he was further remanded yesterday until April 3rd.

After the Court proceedings, Joint Opposition MP Sisira Jayakody expressed his views to the media in this manner.
