UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad Al Hussein says he is prepared to give full support to Sri Lanka for making the complex programme of accountability and searching for the truth successful.

He said so while presenting yesterday his report on Sri Lanka at the 34th Geneva session.

He further said that the programme of creating confidence in the victims should be expedited further.

Subsequently Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva submitted the reply to the commissioner general’s report.

Meanwhile a protest was organised by the Sri Lanka Global Forum in front of the Human Rights Council yesterday in opposition to UNHRC activities.

A group including MPs Rohita Abeygunawardhana and Bandula Gunawardana representing the joint opposition participated in the protest.
