The proposed token strike by Railway Engine Drivers tonight has been called off.

Engine Drivers Union took this decision after having discussion with Transport Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva this morning.

Meanwhile, Railway Transport Superintendent Vijaya Samarasinghe said that trains will be further delayed due to a derailment between Colombo Fort and Maradana stations.

The Colombo Thalai Mannar train was derailed at Maradana yesterday while it was moving to Dematagoda yard.

Two compartments and two signal posts were damaged due to the derailment.
