The Prisons Department says that it is keeping a close eye on MP Wimal Weerawansa’s health status.
The Prisons Department has also commenced an investigation looking into the reports published relating to a blood test that was carried out, outside the prison hospital.
Earlier NFF MP Padma Udayashantha had told our news team that medical officers had stated that a blood test of MP Wimal Weerawansa who had been admitted to the prison hospital, be done externally and the results had been brought into the hospital.
On that occasion the MP had said that the medical officers who examined the MP had told the group including himself that the prison hospital did not have the facilities necessary to carry out the blood test.
Meanwhile, the MP said that MP Wimal Weerawansa was also continuing his fasting protest.
MP Padma Udayashantha told our news team that Weerawansa was consuming only water at this time.
MP Wimal Weerawansa who was remanded over the charges of the misuse of government vehicles, seven days ago, commenced the fast demanding bail.
