Police believes Mount Lavinia maid committed suicide by setting herself on fire

A woman who was found with burnt injuries in the bathroom of a house in Kaldemulla area, Mount Lavinia, died in the hospital.

She was employed as a helper in the house.

A bottle of kerosene was found near the woman and police believes she intended to commit suicide.

She was identified as a 37-year-old resident of Madolsima area, Badulla.

She was found by the owner of the house.

Further investigations are underway.
