The Epidemiology Unit points out that the public should take precaution to stay safe from a heightened risk of deceases during the festive season.

Authorities point out that many areas being congested during the festive season was a major reason for the increased risk.

The Medical Supplies Unit meanwhile stated that the demand for drugs for Influenza virus has increased almost ten-fold during the recent past.

Deputy Director of the Medical Supplies Unit Doctor A T Sudharshana said that the undue fear towards Influenza was a reason for the increased demand and said that only those showing signs of the virus should take such medicine.

Meanwhile, Health Authorities requests the general public to take precaution to minimize the damage to eyes by strong sun rays experienced at present.
