Temperature rises; Experts warn public of dehydration

Health experts are advising the public to take precautions to avoid dehydration due to the prevailing dry weather.

Paediatrician Dr. Deepal Perera said elderly people and children are most vulnerable for dehydration in the body and more attention should be given to them.

According to the Department of Meteorology the sun is directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05th and 15th of April in this year, while the nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the Sun is overhead today (11th), are Kalpitiya, Kalaoya, Thalawa, Tirappane and Kathiraweli about 12:11 noon.

The department added that temperature could reach 35 degrees Celsius at times.
