Minister of  Development and Wildlife M Gamini Jayewickreme Perera said instructions had been given to all sections to capture crocodiles found in the Manik river.

the Minister said In response to a query by our news team , action has been taken to capture approximately 15 crocodiles and release them at Uda-valavey and Yaala wildlife parks.

The Minister also said that it is believed that another 20 crocodiles are to be found in the Manik river.

The Minister also said that separate bathing outlets would be constructed in the Manik river for the people to bath, and be protected from crocodiles in the future.
