Ten houses damaged by lightning : Heavy showers expected tonight as well

10 houses have been damaged when lightning struck at Kitalagama in Thihagoda, Matara last night.

All electrical appliances which were in use in these households have been destroyed due to lightning.

Meanwhile, the Met Department stated that the existing rain could reduce in the next few days.

However, heavy rain could be expected tonight as well in the Eastern, Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces.

The Department stated that wind speeds of 50 kilometers per hour could also be expected.
