University students to launch a protest in Colombo today

The satyagraha organised by the inter university students’ federation and the Medical Faculty Students’ Steering Committee will take place in six locations .

The protest is to voice their demanding of solutions for the SAITM crisis.

The  Inter university Students’ Federation Convener Lahiru Weerasekera said that a group, including parents and some trade unions would visit the trelises of the students engaged in the satyagraha and commemorate the New Year today.

Weersakara went on to say that a protest has been organised to be held this afternoon in the city of Colombo for the same cause.
