Update - President directs three forces to rescue the victims of Meethotamulla garbage dump collapse

President Maithripala Sirisena has directed three forces to control collapsing of Meethotamulla garbage dump and has advised the District Municipal Council to provide relief to the affected people.

More than 100 houses are buried after Meethotamulla garbage dump collapse.

Seven injured persons have been admitted to the National Hospital.

It has been reported several houses are buried after part of the Kolonnawa-Meethotamulla garbage dump collapsed.
