Special bus and train services continue

Special bus and train services are in operation to assist with the increase in demand during New Year season continues.

Sri Lanka Transport Board stated that 1700 additional buses have been deployed.

SLTB chief Operations Superintendent P. H. R. P. Chandrasiri told our news team that these services were implemented from 6th to the 15th of April, to accommodate commuters leaving Colombo for the New Year’s celebrations.  The additional buses have been deployed from the 16th to the 25th of April to accommodate travel for those returning to Colombo.

Meanwhile the Railway Department said that long distance service trains from Bandarawela, Galle, Matara, and Jaffna and several special train from Veyangoda, Kalutara and suburbs were in operation for the people who had returned to their home villages for work.
