Protest launched against dumping Colombo garbage in Dompe

A group of residents in Dompe staged a protest today against dumping garbage transported from Colombo.

The protest was held near the Maligawatta sports ground in Kirindiwela.

Meanwhile, another protest was held against dumping garbage transported from Wattala Pradeshiya Sabha in Muthurajawela.

The protest was held on St. Jacob Mawatha, Ferry Road, and Welisara.

The protesters sent back two tractors which brought garbage during the protest.

Our correspondent stated that demonstrators raised objections to Minister John Amaratunga who visited the scene during the protest.
