Husband, who set alight his wife, commits suicide

In Akmeemana- Pinnaduwa a man committed suicide by self-immolation after stabbing his wife, and setting her alight.

The woman who hadn’t obtained a legal separation from her husband, was managing a shop along with her brother in Akmeemana – Puhul Hena.

It was reported that the husband arrived at the shop on the 17th of April, had a heated argument with his wife, and assaulted her using a sharp object and later set her alight.

Following this, he committed suicide by self-immolation.

Both the individuals were admitted to the Galle- Karapitiya hospital yesterday where they were later pronounced dead.
