The Petroleum Trade Unions’ Collective stated that a strike will be launched in future against selling oil tanks belonging to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to other countries and their demands not being met as yet.

Speaking to our news team, its media spokesperson, Bandula Saman Kumara stated that the collective arrived at the decision at a discussion held yesterday.

It was previously reported that a consensus had been reached to sign an agreement on providing 10 oil tanks at the Trincomalee oil tank farm to Sri Lanka and the rest of the tanks, to India.

However, speaking at a press briefing in Colombo, Minister of petroleum resources development Chandima Weerakkody stated that such an agreement will not be signed.
