The court of appeal of England has refused the request of a Sri Lankan Tamil asylum seeker who had claimed that he was tortured by Sri Lankan security personnel.

He has claimed scars on his body as evidence of how badly he was treated by authorities in Sri Lanka.

However, further investigations have revealed that he has allowed himself to be tortured with hot iron bars while he was under general anaesthetics.

Further investigations have been carried out as the individual had not experienced any significant infection as a result of the burning.

Accordingly, the court of appeal of England rejected the request by the claimant, identified by the initials KV, in a 22,000 word ruling.
