Government says solutions confirmed for Meethotamulla; Part of the garbage mound covered with Polythene

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that the Meethotamulla garbage issue will not be passed on to another government and will be completely resolved by the mid of next year.

The Minister expressed these views answering Journalists following a function in Walasmulla yesterday.

Meanwhile, 4 areas of the Meethotamulla garbage dump have been covered with polythene.

Director General of the National Building Research Organization Dr Asiri Karunawardana stated that this was to prevent another collapse in the event or heavy rains.

Search and clearing operations are continuing for the 10th day in Meethotamulla today.
