Temperature increases abnormally in several provinces, Reservoirs in Tamil Nadu covered

The MET department says that the prevailing extreme weather conditions may prevail till mid may.

The director general of the MET department noted that inter monsoonal weather conditions affecting the island have resulted in current conditions.

The temperature levels have risen in 5 celsius beyond the stipulated temperature in several districts.

The director of the MET department noted that therefore, special attention should be directed towards dressing appropriately to suit the prevailing weather.

Meanwhile, the Tamil nadu state government have commenced a programme in order to conserve water in reservoirs due to the prevailing high temperature.

Accordingly, measures have been taken to sheath the reservoirs in order to prevent evaporation.
