President orders to pay 3 months allowance at once to the families whose houses damaged in Meethotamulla incident

President Maithripala Sirisena had instructed authorities to pay the proposed 50,000 rupees monthly allowance as a lump sum to the relevant beneficiaries of Meethotamulla.

A meeting was chaired by the President at the Presidential Secretariat this morning to discuss streamlining of solid waste management in Colombo and its suburbs

The president told officials that the payments being made as a lump sum would assist those families that are struggling to rent out temporary accommodation.
