Prime Minister says the debt burden increased following the use of executive powers

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that there was a tendency in the past for use of executive powers.

He stated that the country has faced a colossal debt burden as a consequence of actions carried out by the previous administration, especially concerning the control of public funds.

Addressing the Asia Pacific Region Youth parliamentarians’ conference in Colombo today, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said they are prepared to correct the situation and introduce a new parliament system.
