Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is on an official visit to India, met with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi yesterday.

The two leaders discussed a range of matters of mutual interest during a lunch hosted by Prime Minister Modi.

The discussions provided both sides an opportunity to review the progress in implementation of the decisions taken during various high level exchanges over the past two years, including Prime Minister modi visit to Sri Lanka in March 2015 and visits of the sri lanka’s President and the Prime Minister to India since February 2015.

A Memorandum of Understanding for 'Cooperation in Economic Projects' was signed by both sides.

The MOU outlines the agenda for bilateral economic cooperation in the foreseeable future.

The Premiers expressed their commitment to ensuring that this mutually beneficial agenda is expeditiously implemented.
