Medical students stages a midnight protest with torches

The Inter university Students federation and the Medical Faculty Students' Action Committee arrived in Colombo fort last night carrying torches, in protest of the Malabe private medical university.

As a result of the demonstration traffic congestion developed in and around the technical junction and Colombo fort , as the protesters made their way to Fort railway station.

Meanwhile, the secretary of the Government Medical Officers Association Dr. Naveen De Zoysa expressed these views at a media briefing held yesterday regarding a live televised discussion on SAITM held between ministers.
