It is revealed that immigrants arrested in kankasanthurai arrived from India

Its been revealed that 32 foreign nationals  found on board the boat that was seized approximately 12 miles off the coast of Kankasanthurai arrived from India.

Navy Media Spokesperson, Lieutenant Commander Chaminda Walaakuluge stated that the Coast Guard notified the Navy about the suspicious vessel which had entered Sri Lankan territorial waters yesterday.

The boat has been handed over to Kankasanthurai police after being brought into the Kankasanthurai port.

the boat, which has an official carrying capacity of about 6 passengers, had 32 foreign nationals on board.

16 of those were children under the age of 9 from  Myanmar.  

Also among the arrested were two Indian nationals,and  7 men and 7 woman from  Myanmar.
