Committee appointed to take a final decision on the Unit to be established by Minister Sarath Fonseka

Discussions were held yesterday at the Ministers’ board meeting regarding appointing a committee to take the final decision regarding the Unit to be established by Minister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka.

At the discussion it has been agreed to establish the Unit in line with the appointed committee’s consent.

Moreover, special attention has been directed by the President and the board of Ministers on the former discussions held in political platforms regarding the matter.

Accordingly, President Maithripala Sirisena has stated that no cutting of trade union rights would occur with this Unit being established.

In addition, President has said that this Unit is not established to render a position to any individual, yet this will be a step to make public’s life more easily.
