Man nabbed with foreign currency at the BIA

A Sri Lankan has been detained at the BIA while trying to bring foreign currencies illegally to Singapore.

The suspect has brought US$1.39billion/Saudi Riyal and Denmark Croner, according to our correspondent.

The suspect has been identified as a 59 year-old resident in Akurana and he has reached BIA to fly to Singapore.

Customs has inspected the suspect's baggage on suspicions.

Further investigations are underway.
