Police requests public help to detain a money launderer

Police has commenced investigations in order to detain a suspect who has cheated money of Rs.18.65million from a woman promising to publish a wedding advertisement and marrying her.

The suspect is a 57 year-old resident in Hippankanda area in Elpitiya named, Chakravarthy Gamini De Silva, and the police released a photo of the suspect to the media today.

Currently, a case is being heard at the Gampaha Magistrate regarding the fraud and the Police say that the suspect has gone missing.

Thus, the Police requests from the public to inform the Gampaha Special Crimes Investigation Division through the phone numbers, 077 38 90 959 or 077 078 00 71 if any information received regarding the suspect.
