Five vehicles collide together in Nawalapitiya (Photos)

Nawalapitiya police says a Tipper which had been driving towards Thalawakele through Gampola and Nawalapitiya has collided with a Van, a Three Wheeler and two Motorbikes which had been halted on roadside.

The accident has taken place at about 2.00am near the Nawalapitiya Base Hospital.

Police further say that the accident has occurred due to the Tipper experiencing a mechanical error during the drive and the driver being unable to control the vehicle. 

One person who had been inside the Van during the accident has been admitted to the Nawalapitiya Base Hospital following severe injuries.

Driver of the Tipper has been arrested by the Nawalapitiya police.
