President Maithripala Sirisena said that it is regrettable to note certain factions having clung onto narrow political agendas and have engaged in strikes as several policy decisions have already been taken to settle the SAITM issue.

The president was speaking at a ceremony held in Anuradhapura today.

President Sirisena urged all Medical faculty students not to become political slaves but to work hard to complete their education successfully for self benefits and for the benefit of the country.

Meanwhile, President Sirisena also declared open an administrative building which is constructed at a cost of 87 million rupees for the Tamankaduwa Divisional Secretariat today.
