Medical & Transport strike ends with the expectation of solutions

The strike launched by the Government Medical Officers Association and several other Trade Unions over 3 demands including vesting the ownership of SAITM with the people will conclude at 8AM today.

Editor of the GMOA Doctor Nalinda Herath stated that if proper solutions were not received they would resort to sterner measures in future.

Several patients were inconvenienced as a result of the strike yesterday.

The Lanka Teachers Association and Lanka Teacher Services Association also supported the strike yesterday.

Meanwhile, Train services were also affected as the night mails were cancelled yesterday.

However, train services will return to normalcy by 8AM today.
