Youth who was with the child abducted in Gampola released

A 26 year old youth who was abducted along with a 2 years and 8 months old child in the Gampola town has been released.

Police headquarters stated that the abductors had released the youth in Kandy.

Based on information received from the youth who was released, the CID is conducting investigations in search of the child.

3 Police Teams have been deployed on investigations mainly centred around Colombo and Galle.

The Mother of the child complained to the Gampola Police on the 2nd of this month stating that the child and the youth who was a relative were missing.

An individual who had called the father of the child using the mobile phone belonging to the youth, had demanded a ransom of 3 Million Rupees to release the child.

The Police requests the support of the public to locate the child and any credible information can be given by calling the numbers 0718 501070 or 0718 591073.
