Five nabbed while treasure mining

Five individuals and six motorbikes have been nabbed by the Galenbindunuwewa police today when the individuals were engaged in treasure mining in a garden of a house in Olukalagala in Anuradhapura-Galenbindunuwewa.

Some equipment utilized for the mining and mantra books have also been detained along with the suspects.

Police said that in line with a tip received by the police Intelligence, Kostha alias Olukalagala Vikramaya was detained while treasure mining, and the rest of the nabbed are the residents in different areas including Kegalle, Hingurakgoda.

The mission was conducted with the patronage of the Officer In Charge of the Galenbindunuwewa police, Inspector Sirimewan Karunatissa, by 11 police officers including 05 Sub inspectors.
