UNP Central Working Committee convenes

The meeting convened by the UNP Central Working Committee is currently underway at the party headquarters Sirikotha, under the leadership of Party Leader, Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Meanwhile, a proposal has been submitted to appoint Minister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka as the deputy leader of the party.

Subsequent to a meeting held in Biyagama- Siyambalape yesterday, state minister of defence Ruwan Wijeywardene said that the Central Working Committee will discuss the proposal that has been put forward.
