SLFP ministers meet the president

A special discussion will be held between President Maithreepala Sirisena and several ministers representing the SLFP this evening.

A senior minister representing the SLFP told our news team that the main aim of this discussion is to request the removal of Minister Rajitha Senaratne from the post of cabinet spokesman and to replace him with a minister representing the SLFP.

The minister of disaster management Anura Priyadharshana Yapa’s name has been proposed for the post.

Earlier, the group of ministers held discussions on this issue with the General Secretary of the UPFA Mahinda Amaraweera.

A senior minister representing the SLFP speaking to our news team stated that today’s discussion is a result of a decision taken at the meeting with UPFA General Secretary and noted that a statement will be issued to the media once the discussion concludes.
