Truth behind Wattala murder revealed...?

The exhuming of the dead body of the 65 year old father who went missing in Wattala-Kerawalapitiya area is being conducted by Wattala Chief Magistrate Poornima Gamage in line with a special court order.

The daughter of the deceased has confessed yesterday that she was harassed by her father who comes home drunk and therefore she, along with her mother and husband killed the father.

She has further revealed that her husband was mad at her father because of his bad behavior.

Accordingly, due to this father’s harassments being increased, her husband and mother have stabbed him and buried him in the backyard of their house.

Wattala police took the wife, daughter and the son-in-law into custody yesterday regarding this murder.

The deceased was a 65 year-old retired employee of the Harbor named, H.Walter.

His daughter is 33 years old while her husband is 35 years old.

The daughter’s husband is a Tamil guy who was working in a Tea Factory.

The murdered father has not approved their marriage and they have not lived together though they married.

According to the daughter who is one of the suspects, her father who comes home heavily drunk everyday has tried to assault her. When she told this to her husband, he has said that the father must be killed.

Later, the father has been stabbed to death by his wife, daughter and son-in-law.

Police commenced investigations when the neighbors informed that they are suspicious of the missing of the dead person.

However, when the family were asked about him, they have said he went abroad.

Meanwhile, the villagers are involved in a silent protest regarding the murder.
