A mother and a child murdered in Kosgoda

A 38 year old woman and her 6 months old baby have been murdered after being attacked by a sharp object at South Boraluketiya in Kosgoda.

Police suspect the paramour of the woman has committed the crime.

Police have initiated investigations to arrest the suspect.

Meanwhile, the body of a person said to have been disappeared from his home at Kerawalapitiya in Wattala was exhumed from the backyard of his house today.

The body was exhumed before Wattala Chief Magistrate Purnima Paranagamage following a confession made to police by the daughter of the victim.

The victim’s daughter has confessed to police that she can no longer tolerate physical harassment by her father since childhood therefore she planned with her husband to kill her father.

The wife of the victim has also been arrested for covering up the crime.

Meanwhile, the two suspects and the wife of the victim were remanded until May 23rd when they were produced before the Wattala magistrate today.
