President informs the Cabinet that time is needed to study the Hambantota port agreement

President Maithripala Sirisena has informed the Cabinet that he needs time to study the agreement signed regarding the Hambantota port.

He has conveyed the message day before yesterday at the Board of Ministers' meeting.

Speaking to Hiru news team, Co-Cabinet Spokesman Minister Gayantha Karunathilake voiced that the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade, Malik Samarawickrama handed over the final report on Hambantota port agreement to the President at the meeting.

President, at that moment has said that he needs time to study the content of report.

Speaking further, Minister karunathilake said that accordingly, President will have discussions with the premier regarding the report and will come into a conclusion.
