Thousands of Devotees gather at Ridee Viharaya in Kurunagala for Hiru’s Uththama Daathu Wandana

A large number of Devotees have gathered at the Kurunegala Ridi Viharaya to pay homage to the Kapilawastu Relics.

The Uttama Dhathu Vandana has been organized to mark Vesak festival by HIRU FM and HIRU TV under the patronage of Asia Broadcasting Cooperation for the 5th consecutive year.

Our correspondents state that long queues of devotees waiting to pay homage to the Relics could be seen at the Sacred Ridi Vihara temple at this moment.

The Kapilawasthu Exact Relics were conducted from Sri Subhuthi Temple in Waskaduwa for the Uttama Dhatu Wandana exposition at Ridi Viharaya.

The relics were positioned in a special shrine this morning by the chairman of Asia Broadcasting Corporation Mr. Rayynor Silva. The Maha Sangha offered the blessing on the chairman and the staff of Asia Broadcasting Corporation for organizing this meritorious deed.

Counseling the devotees, the trustee of the Ridi Viharaya, Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Buddha Rakkitha Thera said Asia Broadcasting Corporation has been performing a great service for the sustenance of the Buddha Sasana.

The HIRU Shakya Sinha Mangalyaya organized by HIRU FM and HIRU TV to mark Vesak, with the participation of thousands of pilgrims at the Sacred Ridi Viharaya premises in Kurunegala was held yesterday.

Coinciding to the HIRU Shakya Sinha Mangalyaya, the illumination of the Ridi Vihara Chetiya was also switched on by the Chairman of Asia Broadcasting Corporation, Mr. Rayynor Silva.

Lighting of one hundred thousand oil lamps under this Aloka pooja pinkama was also held yesterday.
