Anuradhapura District MP S.M. Chandrasena threatens to organize people to cordon the North Central Provincial Council unless the Chief Ministerial portfolio is given to a member of the Joint Opposition.

Addressing a media conference held in Anuradhapura today, MP Chandrasena stated that crisis has emerged in the provincial council after K.H. Nandasena was removed from the health ministry portfolio.

Meanwhile, Provincial Transport minister S.M. Ranjith has tendered his resignation to provincial governor P.B. Dissanayake today.

He has decided to resign from his post in protest of the removal of his colleague Nandasena from his health ministry post.

However, SLFP General Secretary Minister Duminda Dissanayake told our news team that there is no issue to maintain the office of North Central Provincial Council.
