14th UN Vesak commemoration inauguration takes place in Colombo

United Nations 14th Vesak Celebration has commenced at the BMICH currently, with the patronage of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the diplomats.

President Maithripala Sirisena, Premier Ranil Wickramasinghe, indian Premier Modi and the diplomats arrived in BMICH in the morning today and they were welcomed with a traditional Udarata Dance and an orchestral performance.

Later, the International Vesak Festival commenced with the President, premier and the distiguished guests lighting the traditional oil lamp.
