Hand grenade thrown at Medical Council premises

A hand grenade was found from the premises of the Sri Lanka Medical Council located along Norris Canal Road in Colombo 10.

The security guard on duty last night had heard the sound of an object been thrown at the building.

It was this morning that the object thrown was identified as a hand grenade and the Police had been alerted.

Police stated that the grenade was later diffused and investigations are been carried out in to the incident.

New organization from the joint opposition to handle grievances

The joint opposition is preparing to establish a new organization for those from whom the government sought revenge.

Parliamentarian Ranjith Soysa stated that the organization will be established with the intention of seeking relief from a future government.
