Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said that power in provincial councils cannot be changed abruptly.

He further stated that the 13th Constitutional Amendment had been prepared taking in to consideration such possible issues.

A majority of Councillors of the North Central Provincial Council have decided to pledge support to the Joint Opposition following a discussion with Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
