China’s One Belt – One Road summit commences with the participation of many countries including Sri Lanka; India to abstain

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who is participating in the One Belt – One Road summit in China is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang.

The summit is held with the participation of nearly 30 countries.

Meanwhile, India has decided not to attend the summit stating that proposals under the summit challenge its sovereignty.
