No impact on Galle district Alliance list as a result of Geethaa Kumaarasinghe’s issue; says Election Commission

The petition filed by Geethaa Kumarasinghe at the Supreme Court, challenging the verdict the Appeal Court had given stating that Geetha Kumaarasinghe was ineligible for holding a parliamentary seat, will be reconsidered today.

M. M. Mohamed said that there would be no impact, what so ever, on the Galle District  UPFA List, as a result of the issue regarding Geethaa Kumaarasinghe’s parliamentary seat.

The statement was made in response to our news team’s inquiry, regarding various views expressed among political experts .

The Supreme Court had, on 12th this month, ordered that the verdict of the Appeal Court be suspended until today.
