Prime Minister meets Chinese President

Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe who is currently in China to attend the One belt- One road summit held in Beijing, met with the president of China, Xi Jinping yesterday.

The prime ministers office noted that bilateral discussions were held between the two state leaders regarding many aspects.

The Chinese president, in his inauguration speech, at the one belt- one road summit noted that everyone should unite in order to carry out the development process in a manner in which all countries and parties can succeed and reap benefits.

Over 100 countries , international organizations and state and political leaders from 29 countries are in attendance at the conference, and a special round of discussions is to be held today.

In addition, Premier Ranil Wickramasinghe yesterday met with the state leader of Myanmar, Aung San Su Kyi and the Malaysian Prime Minister Najeeb Razaak.
