Rainfall increase

Met Department says an increase in rainfall during the next few days would be expected in the Southwestern part of the island due to the pre monsoonal condition being established throughout the island.

Moreover, the Department says considerably heavy winds would be expected in the Northern and Southern sea areas as well as throughout the island.

Rain or thunderous rain would fall in the Western, Northwestern, and Southern and Central provinces while Eastern and Uva provinces would experience showers after 2.00pm.

Speaking further, the met Department says rainfall more than 50mm in volume would be expected in some areas as well.

Met Departments requests the public to be cautious on lightening strokes.
