A software Engineer arrested for possession of 7.5 million rupees worth of intoxicating tablets

A suspect has been arrested for possession of a stock of ecstasy tablets worth 7.5 million rupees .

The arrest was made by the Fly-over in Nugegoda.

Officers attached to Special Search Unit of the Excise Department conducted the raid last night.

An Excise officer stated that they retrieved one thousand tablets taht was in the possession of the 31 year old suspect.

OIC of Special Excise Search Unit P.N. Hemantha said that the suspect is a software engineer by profession.

 He said the suspect is believed to have been one of the main dealers responsible for smuggling drugs into the country.
