A boy found hanged in his bedroom told a friend he would not see him for a 'long time' on the day of his death, a pre-inquest hearing heard today.

Asad Khan, 11 - who also told the friend that he felt 'unsafe' in school - was found dead by his mother after she forced her way through his locked bedroom door in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

The boy's family believe he may have been bullied at the school where he had been a pupil for only three weeks.

Ruth Bundey, legal representative for Asad's family, told the court he had spoken to a friend on the day of his day and said: 'I am unsafe in school. You won't see me for a long time. I am going to skive for a very long time.'

Police investigations are underway regarding the tragic death.
