The North Central Provincial Council which made a ministerial replacement this morning has changed a ministry portfolio in the afternoon as well.

Accordingly, Sampath Sri Nilantha Wickramaarachchi took oaths as the Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Minister before the provincial Governor.

This portfolio was held earlier by R.M.P.B. Rathnayake.

Earlier, in the morning, Land, Rural Development and Women Affairs Minister H.B. Semasinghe was replaced with UPFA councillor Sarath Ilangasinghe.

Ilangasinghe also signed the recent affidavit which was organized against Chief Minister Peshala Jayarathna.

Earlier another minister S.M. Ranjith resigned from his post and he was replaced with UPFA councillor Susil Gunarathna yesterday.

Susil Gunarathna was also among the group who signed the controversial affidavit.

Having sworn in as a new minister, Sarath Ilangasinghe said that he signed the affidavit against the chief minister not intending to sack him but to respect the collective responsibility.

At the same time, MP S.M. Chandrasena stated at a media conference held in Colombo today that he is ready any time to hand over the affidavit in the event the governor is willing to accept it.
