Thunderstorms and Excessively Strong winds expected throughout the country today

The met department states that strong winds reaching up to 50 kilo meters per hour can be expected over the island especially in the western slopes of the central hills and the surrounding sea areas. Those winds reaching  up to 60 to 70 kilo meters per hour.

Rainfall is expected to continue over south-western part of the island.

Showers or thunderstorms will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-western provinces.

Rainfall exceeding 100 mili meters can be expected in certain locations.
